It has been some time since Apple has upgraded its Retina display and with phones like the HTC One now featuring an even higher resolution screen than what Apple is currently offering it makes sense the fruit company would want to improve.
According to AppleInsider the Chinese-Language website Weiphone is reporting that this is exactly what Apple plans to do with the next-generation iPhone. The report claimed that the next generation iPhone will continue to have the same 4-inch display as the iPhone 5, but will have double the resolution; bringing the pixel count to 1.5 million.
In addition, it was also stated that the iPhone 5 will have a thinner bezel, suggesting that Apple will begin borrowing elements from the iPad Mini. As I am sure you are well aware of the next-generation iPhone is also rumored to feature a fingerprint reader.
If Apple does indeed give the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, whatever it will be called, this much of a facelift it is sure to turn some heads. As usually Apple is known to go easy on the “S” upgrade of the iPhone, bringing about only minor hardware changes.
